SAMARKAND was designed by Olin Stephens, whose drawings are renowned and stored in the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Built in 1958 by Abeking & Rasmussen for Tom Watson Junior, Chairman of IBM, she has been helmed by notable figures including the Kennedy family, Grace Kelly, astronaut John Glenn, and Sir Anthony Eden.

This classic SAMARKAND is for sale through our brokerage. She underwent an extensive refit in 2000, where her interior was redesigned with quarter sawn Siberian ash. Her latest refit was in 2008.

S/Y SAMARKAND features classical beautiful sweeping lines, making her a true sailing machine of her day. She has spacious teak decks for relaxation and sunbathing, and a large cockpit safely surrounded by traditional style wood combing.
